Knowing us, of course we saved our wildest tailgate recipe of the season for last. Yes, even wilder than making pork poppable, like we did with our Kielbasa Tots creation.

Hear us out:

Peanut Butter.

Chocolate.

Chicken.

Yep, you read that right.

Now, I’m fairly certain the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup was not invented the way it was portrayed in Family Guy, but if it was…well, it would be one of the wildest stories ever! So, before we get to the recipe for our grilled chocolate peanut butter wings, let’s take a trip down memory lane and roll the tape:

Before prepping your chicken, you’ll want to make a peanut butter wing sauce. I recommend the following recipe:

Spicy Peanut Butter Wing Sauce
  • ½ cup All-Natural Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cup Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce (to cut back on heat, reduce amount of wing sauce)
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • ¼ cup water

Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Done.

Chicken Prep

This recipe works great with either fresh chicken wings or drumsticks. The prep couldn’t be any easier. Before grilling, simply coat your chicken with a liberal amount of 409 French Roast Coffee BBQ Rub, ORDER HERE which is a bold blend of coffee, cocoa powder, and other select spices.

Grilling Directions

Whether you’re cooking with charcoal or gas, you’ll want to pre-heat your grill to medium-high heat. Toss the chicken on the grill and flip every few minutes until the rub has set (about 10 minutes). Once the rub has set, you’ll want to baste the wings with your peanut butter sauce. This is where the oil from the all-natural peanut butter comes into play. It’s magical when applied to chicken!

Continue to flip and baste until the wings or drumsticks are done. Once you see the skin getting crispy and bubbly, they’re ready to come off of the grill! Cook time should be about 20 minutes.

After you have removed your chicken from the grill, drizzle some of your remaining peanut butter sauce over the wings/sticks. The final step is quite easy. Devour and enjoy!!!
